How can record archivists write the Obama-era into history with so many records missing?

Here’s something that all Americans, regardless of political affiliation or whether or not they support President Trump, should consider: How can record archivists possibly write the Obama-era into history with so many records missing?

As noted by LifeZette.com, the Presidential Records Act of 1978 defines the term “presidential records” as including: “All books, correspondence, memoranda, documents, papers, pamphlets, works of art, models, pictures, photographs, plats, maps, films, and motion pictures, including, but not limited to, audio and visual records, or other electronic or mechanical recordations, whether in analog, digital, or any other form.”

In the past, using this definition to write one of our nation’s leaders into the history books hasn’t been very difficult because all of the necessary information has been readily available. When it comes to Barack Obama and his administration, however, it’s a completely different story.

For instance, how is one supposed to properly and accurately document the number of senior people inside of the Obama White House that used private servers or alias email accounts like Hillary Clinton did during her time as Secretary of State? We already know that Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson used the made-up name “Richard Windsor” in hundreds of her emails related to official government business, but how many more did this same thing? Obviously, without a number, the legacy of the Obama administration cannot be accurately recorded into the history books.

The attack on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya is still a gray area as well, even nearly six years after the tragedy occurred. While we know that the attack began at 9:40 p.m. on September 11, 2012 and lasted into the early hours of September 12, we still don’t know what Barack Obama did while our brave American soldiers were fighting for their lives. Was he really working diligently through the night to ensure their safety? Was he doing everything in his power to try to get them some aid and assistance as the terrorists closed in on them? Or did he do what many conservatives across the country think he did and go to sleep? Like the private email servers and the alias usernames, this too is important information if archivists are to record an accurate account of the Obama era.

Even today, over a year after Barack Obama officially left the Oval Office, there are still new questions emerging with regards to his actions during the final months of his presidency. For example, as we learned in the recently released text messages between Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, Obama wanted to know everything that was going on during the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s illegal use of a private server to conduct government business as Secretary of State. (Related: Damning new text messages surface that name Barack Obama in the corrupt exoneration of Hillary Clinton and her illegal email server.)

What exactly did Obama know and when did he know it? Was the FBI feeding him information as they went along, and if so, what was Obama doing with that information? Once again, these are questions that need to be answered if the written history of the Obama administration is to be thorough and factually correct.

What’s truly unfortunate is that sadly, the liberals will write Obama into the history books as one of the greatest presidents our country has ever seen. The text books that our children will be asked to read for class will be chalk full of lies and inaccurate statistics about Obama’s record, and as a result, future generations will falsely believe that the 44th president of the United States was one of the best. Of course, the harsh reality is that this couldn’t be further from the truth. Barack Obama was an absolute disaster, regardless of what the history books will one day say about him.
