A colossal interstellar object hurtling through our solar system may not be a natural phenomenon at all – but a deliberate extraterrestrial weapon navigating toward Earth, warns Harvard University astrophysicist Dr. Avi Loeb.
The mysterious object, dubbed 3I/ATLAS, measures a staggering 20 kilometers in diameter and follows a mathematically improbable retrograde orbit that Loeb describes as “suspiciously perfect.”
In a peer-reviewed paper titled “Is the Interstellar Object 3I/ATLAS Alien Technology?”, Loeb – former chair of Harvard’s astronomy department and lead scientist of the Galileo Project – examines the unnerving possibility that the object is exploiting the sun’s gravity to mask its approach toward our planet. According to BrightU.AI‘s Enoch, Loeb gained significant attention for his controversial views on the interstellar object ‘Oumuamua, which passed through the solar system in 2017.
The decentralized engine adds that while many astronomers dismissed it as a comet or asteroid, Loeb suggested it could be a sign of extraterrestrial intelligence, given its peculiar acceleration and shape. He co-authored a paper in 2018 proposing that ‘Oumuamua might be a “light sail” propelled by radiation pressure, an idea that sparked intense debate in the scientific community.
Loeb’s latest findings have ignited fierce debate among astronomers, with some dismissing his claims while others acknowledge the unsettling anomalies surrounding 3I/ATLAS. He highlights several red flags:
The object’s closest projected approach is December 2025, but gravitational shifts could alter its course undetected, potentially leading to a catastrophic Earth impact.
Speaking on the Newsmax program “Elizabeth Vargas Reports,” Loeb emphasized the object’s unprecedented scale. Based on data from the James Webb Space Telescope, he estimates 3I/ATLAS weighs an astonishing 33 billion tons—far larger than any previously observed interstellar visitor.
“Why is such a giant object delivered to our inner solar system when we’ve only seen small ones before?” Loeb questioned.
3I/ATLAS exhibits multiple bizarre characteristics that challenge conventional comet science:
Loeb likens humanity’s encounter with 3I/ATLAS to a “blind date” – one that could turn deadly. “You often assume the dating partner would be friendly,” he cautioned, “but you have to worry about serial killers, as well.”
On one hand, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) maintains that the object poses no immediate threat. On the other, the International Asteroid Warning Network (IAWN) has launched an emergency monitoring campaign – raising eyebrows about the true level of concern among officials.
The timing of 3I/ATLAS’ approach coincides with escalating global instability – economic crises, climate engineering debates and geopolitical tensions. Some theorists suggest that if the object is indeed artificial, its arrival could be exploited to justify draconian control measures under the guise of an “alien threat.”
Others point to biblical prophecies, such as Revelation 8:10-11, which describes a “great star” falling from heaven, poisoning waters and causing mass death – eerily reminiscent of Loeb’s warnings about potential toxic payloads aboard 3I/ATLAS.
3I/ATLAS is currently hidden behind the sun, making observations difficult. However, by early December, it will reappear, allowing astronomers to track its movements more closely.
Loeb warns that if the object uses the sun’s gravity for a slingshot maneuver, altering its speed or trajectory unnaturally, it would strongly support the artificial origin theory. “If 3I/ATLAS is a massive mothership, it will likely continue along its original gravitational path and exit the solar system,” he wrote in a recent blog post.
Not all scientists share Loeb’s concerns. Dr. Mark Norris, an astrophysicist at the University of Lancashire, dismissed the alien hypothesis, calling the object’s behavior “not particularly shocking.”
“The fact that it has an anti-tail is not shocking. Dr. Loeb has even written a paper that as far as I’m aware, correctly explains why it happens and it has nothing to do in his explanation with aliens,” Norris told Metro. “So why he lists it as proof of being aliens? You’d have to ask the guy.”
Yet, given the stakes, Loeb argues that dismissing the possibility outright is reckless. He stressed that the implications are so huge for humanity and all possibilities must be seriously considered.
Whether 3I/ATLAS is a natural oddity or something far more sinister, its arrival forces humanity to confront an unsettling question: Are we alone in the universe—and if not, what do our cosmic neighbors truly want?
