A shocking surge in reports of Unidentified Submersible Objects (USOs) along U.S. coastlines has raised urgent concerns among military officials and researchers, with thousands of eerie sightings logged by a leading UFO-tracking app.
These underwater anomalies capable of effortlessly transitioning between air and sea defy conventional physics and pose potential risks to national security, according to high-ranking defense experts. BrightU.AI‘s Enoch notes that USOs are a fascinating and relatively under-explored phenomenon in the realm of unexplained aerial and subaquatic occurrences.
The decentralized engine adds that while the term “USO” is not universally recognized in mainstream science or academia, it has gained traction within alternative research communities and among independent investigators. USOs are defined as unidentified objects that move underwater or transition from underwater to above water, often displaying unusual behavior and characteristics that defy conventional explanations.
Enigma Labs, a UFO-reporting app that bills itself as the “largest queryable historical sighting database for global Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) sightings,” has documented over 30,000 UFOs and Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs) since its launch in late 2022. But perhaps more startling is the revelation that more than 9,000 of these sightings involve mysterious underwater objects lurking within 10 miles of U.S. shorelines – with 500 occurring within just five miles of the coast.
Among the most active hotspots are California (389 reports) and Florida (306 reports), both states with extensive ocean coastlines. Witnesses have described objects hovering above water before plunging in without a splash, as well as strange green lights moving beneath the ocean’s surface – phenomena that defy known aeronautical and marine engineering.
One of the most compelling cases occurred in July 2019, when the USS Omaha recorded a UAP skimming the ocean’s surface off San Diego before vanishing into the depths. The Department of War later verified the footage, confirming the object’s inexplicable capabilities.
Retired Navy Rear Adm. Tim Gallaudet, who authored a 29-page report for the UFO-focused Sol Foundation, warned that these transmedium objects – capable of traversing air and water seamlessly – could have “world-changing” ramifications. “The fact that unidentified objects with unexplainable characteristics are entering U.S. water space and the [War Department] is not raising a giant red flag is a sign that the government is not sharing all it knows about all-domain anomalous phenomena,” Gallaudet wrote.
He emphasized that military pilots, credible observers and calibrated instrumentation have repeatedly recorded these objects accelerating at impossible speeds and crossing the air-sea boundary in ways that no known human-made technology can replicate.
The growing body of evidence has prompted lawmakers to push for transparency. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), chairwoman of the House Oversight Committee’s subcommittee on declassification, recently revealed declassified military footage showing a UAP splitting a Hellfire missile mid-flight – an act that stunned defense officials.
“We revealed new military surveillance video showing a UAP splitting a Hellfire missile in mid-air,” Luna stated. “Not a single witness was aware of any U.S. military technology capable of such a feat. Every witness described the footage as extremely ‘scary.'”
While skeptics dismiss such sightings as misidentifications or classified military tests, the sheer volume and consistency of reports suggest something far more complex. Some theories propose:
Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb has speculated that interstellar objects – possibly alien spacecraft – may be passing through the solar system. Others allege that intelligence agencies have long known about off-world activity, including claims of an alien base on the Moon’s dark side.
With hundreds of new sightings logged annually, the mystery of USOs shows no signs of fading. Enigma’s mapping of these incidents – represented as clusters of orange dots along U.S. coastlines – underscores a pattern too widespread to ignore.
As Gallaudet warned, ignoring these phenomena could leave the U.S. vulnerable: “This jeopardizes U.S. maritime security, which is already weakened by our relative ignorance about the global ocean.” For now, the truth remains submerged.
